Do you know someone who attended Michigan public schools and has an interesting and inspiring story to tell? Tell us who they are!
MASB is searching for the best and the brightest of Michigan public school graduates. Many successful lives and career paths had their beginnings in a Michigan public school and it’s time we highlighted their stories.
Keep in mind that success comes in many different varieties. We’re not only looking for the rich and the famous, but also for the quieter successes of those who simply made a difference in someone’s life. It doesn’t matter how long ago a candidate graduated—it only matters that they attended a Michigan
public school.
We’d like to highlight a graduate who has accomplished something GREAT, such as overcame a great hurdle, became a local hero, succeeded in business, mentored children, started their own business, saved a life, built a park in their hometown, cleaned up a lake, or even were the first person in their family to attend and finish college. Stories that truly highlight their success because of the opportunity that a public education gave them. Success can mean many different things and we want to highlight all the successful people you’ve seen come through your schools.
We’re collecting the stories of our Michigan public education all-stars and plan on sharing the top stories in a statewide campaign designed to inform, bring awareness and improve the opinion of public education. We’re looking for at least one (but nominate as many as you wish) candidate per school district, so please nominate one of your all-star graduates by using either of these options:
Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation. Together we can elevate public education and give it the recognition it so richly deserves. If you have any questions or want more information, contact Stacy Washington at 517.327.5936, swashington@masb.org.
