The Michigan Comprehensive Bylaw and Policy Manual is a generic manual designed to fit the needs of Michigan public school districts and intermediate districts. It is intended for use by those districts that may have used other generic bylaw and policy manuals, but who now wish to move to the Michigan-based MASB manual OR those districts that have older, outdated manuals that may have been "home grown"” over the years but that have not been updated completely in many years.

What would be the advantages in choosing the MASB Michigan Comprehensive Bylaw and Policy Manual?

• COST- —The Michigan Comprehensive Manual is priced competitively below the normal cost of other generic manual services and the pricing includes sample administrative rules, procedures and pertinent forms.

• CONVENIENCE- —Because the Michigan Comprehensive Manual is designed to replace, almost totally, the district’s former collection of bylaws and policies, there is less work for the board and the superintendent involved in the review and approval of the new bylaws and policies. The entire process of review is shortened because former bylaws and policies, for the most part, are set aside in favor of the new collection with the exception of those unique policies that the board wishes to keep in the new manual. The MASB numeric policy numbering system is perceived to be much easier to use and understand than other coding systems.

• FLEXIBILITY—- While the Michigan Comprehensive Manual is intended to replace the former bylaw and policy collection of the district, accommodations are made to include selected local policies or resolutions in the new manual at no added cost if desired.
